In May 2021, the world of special education hit our home much closer than expected. With a child going through Early Intervention because daycare didn't think she could speak, to having formal medical and academic diagnoses that propelled out family into IEP meetings of our own, this was a far cry from being the educational expert at my own school.
Although IEP teams make decisions based on data, the only consistent member of your child's educational experience is YOU. You are the expert on your child, and through the lens of a teacher and a special needs parent I am fighting each day to give my daughter the best outcome possible. I know what it is like to be in your position, and with the clear lens of a special education teacher and special needs parents, I am ready and willing to support you in all your child's endeavors.
